Sales and Operations
Gulf States Towers’ business model is simple and effective. GST is able to provide quality towers and exceptional customer service at reasonable prices for its customers and at a reasonable profit for the Company.
Search Area Request
GST’s sales process starts with a Search Area request from a wireless carrier, where the Company finds suitable property to lease and erect a wireless tower. GST performs due diligence work for the site, including architectural and engineering surveys, procurement of regulator permits and site inspection.
Tower Construction
The next phase in the sales process is tower construction. All tower construction is subcontracted through Malcolm B. Price & Son General Contractors, a construction company owned by GST member Terry G. Price.
Modular Building
Upon completion of the tower, GST erects a modular building that serves as the local operations center for the wireless carrier.
Additional Carriers
The next phase in the sales process is to offer existing tower space to other wireless carriers. Each tower is designed to accommodate five wireless carriers without modification, and up to thirteen wireless carriers with modification. GST is able to lease this additional tower space to other wireless carriers at no additional cost, and often erects another modular building to handle the operations of the additional carriers.
Tower Ownership
Gulf States Towers can retain ownership of the towers, or build as contractor only. GST builds the towers to meet or exceed existing building code requirements, and believes the towers’ appraised values will appreciate and serve as excellent collateral until construction debts are paid.
The Company has worked diligently to minimize administrative costs, and maintains one office location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
